Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Atlanta, GA
Let Us Offer Insight For Better Oral Health
Achieving optimal oral health is a goal everyone should have. Ensuring teeth and gums remain free of cavities and gum disease doesn’t have to be a difficult task. However, if you’re feeling unsure or doubtful about the possibilities of a healthier smile, allow our team to provide clear and concise answers to some of the most frequently asked dental questions below.
How often should I see my dentist?
It is recommended that you see your dentist every six months or twice each year. The American Dental Association and our team of dental experts believe this is an ideal timeframe to catch any problems should they arise and provide necessary treatment before symptoms worsen. During these visits, we’ll check for damage, tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, and even oral cancer.
Will I need to see an outside specialist for dental implants?
It will depend. In some cases, we will be able to take care of the entire dental implant placement and restoration process in-house; however, some instances will require that we refer you to a local, trusted implant dentist in the area. We partner with only the best, so you can be sure that your surgery will lead to optimal results.
Will my root canal hurt?
No, you should not experience any pain during your root canal procedure. The reason is that you will receive local anesthesia that will keep your mouth free of any discomfort. If necessary, you can also request sedation dentistry to help put you at ease. After your procedure, you can expect there to be some discomfort as you recover; however, an over-the-counter pain reliever can minimize any pain you might feel, and it will only be temporary.
Do you see children?
Yes, we are pleased to see children of all ages. We know young smiles deserve high-quality dental care, which is why we are eager to offer child-friendly services that are designed to help your little one embrace better oral hygiene and, in turn, healthier teeth and gums as they transition into various stages of life. Whether it is a dental checkup and teeth cleaning or a customized athletic mouthguard, we can provide the treatment they need to ensure a more beautiful smile.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We are a fee-for-service dental practice; however, we will be happy to file any necessary paperwork with your dental insurance company so that you receive the maximum reimbursement. Although we are not in-network with any particular insurer, we will do our best to help you get as much back as possible. We also aim to keep our dental services affordable.
How can dental care be affordable if I’m uninsured?
If you are uninsured, you can apply for flexible financing through CareCredit. As a third-party company that offers low-to-no-interest payment plans, you’ll have no surprise fees while you pay back the cost of your dental treatment over time.
